Therapy for students, covered by your Aetna Student Health plan.
Classes, deadlines, family pressure and figuring out who you are can pile up fast. We're in-network with Aetna Student Health plans and offer private video sessions you can join from your dorm, apartment or car.

Getting started in three steps
Get a referral
Call your campus Student Health Center and ask for a referral for outside therapy. Most Aetna Student Health plans require one.
Reach out to us
Text or call (310) 803-3270, or book online. We'll check your plan and find a time that works with your class schedule.
Meet by video
Join your sessions from your phone or laptop, anywhere in California.
Support for what college actually feels like
You don't need a crisis or a diagnosis to start therapy. Many students come to us because they're overwhelmed, stuck in their heads, or carrying things from home they haven't had space to work through.
Our practice is trauma-focused, and our therapists are trained in EMDR, CBT and ERP for OCD.
Who you'll see
Most students with Aetna Student Health plans work with James, who has the most open daytime, evening and weekend times.
James Garcia, ASW
Anxiety, OCD, trauma, and urges and addiction. ERP, EMDR and DeTUR for adults across California.

Christina Castro, LPCC
Trauma and attachment wounds. EMDR and Attachment-Focused EMDR. Limited evening openings.

Do I need a referral?
Most Aetna Student Health plans ask you to get a referral from your campus Student Health Center before seeing an outside therapist. Call them first, then reach out to us. If you're not sure what your plan needs, we'll help you check.
How much will I pay?
It depends on your school's plan. Many students pay a copay or nothing at all per session. We'll check your benefits and tell you what to expect before your first session.
Can I keep seeing my therapist over breaks?
Yes, as long as you're physically in California during your sessions, because that's where our therapists are licensed. If you go home to another state, let us know and we'll talk through your options.
Will my school or parents find out?
What you share in therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions your therapist will explain, such as safety concerns. If you're on a parent's plan or your plan sends statements home, your therapist can talk with you about what those documents show.
What if I need help right now?
If you are in crisis, call or text 988, contact your campus counseling center's after-hours line, or go to the nearest emergency room.
Ready when you are.
Text us your name, school and a few times that work, and we'll take it from there.
James Garcia, Associate Clinical Social Worker, ASW #132540, supervised by Christina Castro, LPCC #10716. Christina Castro, LPCC: CA #10716, FL #1589, SC #2226. Coverage depends on your school's plan; we'll confirm your benefits before you begin. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or go to the nearest emergency room.
